This course is intended for new users of the Microsoft Outlook application software, part of the Microsoft Office suite. It is recommended that the attendee have basic keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
We will introduce the main features of Microsoft Outlook, together with some tips and shortcuts to help you get the most benefit from your system.
Outlook is a desktop information manager. In this course we cover the basic features such as:
- What Outlook is and where it fits into your computer system.
- Using the mouse to move around the Outlook application.
- Creating and sending email messages.
- Replying to and printing email messages.
- Using Contacts to enter and maintain addresses.
It is important that you use your new skills as soon as possible on completion of this training course. We encourage you to take your own notes, and to review this Course Guide once you are back at work.
This course in conjunction with Outlook: Timesaving Features contains the content required for the Outlook MOS exam.
Anyone who wants to gain more confidence in using Outlook. Maybe you’ve just started using it in your new role or perhaps you’ve been using it for years but aren’t sure if you’re doing things the ‘right’ way. This course will give you the foundational skills and confidence you need to start using Outlook effectively.
We recommend our half-day Windows: Getting Started course for students who have no experience with personal computers. Basic keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Windows operating systems are important.
We aim to familiarise you with creating, sending and receiving messages. As well as exploring message options, creating Contacts and folders.
