This course is designed for new users of Microsoft Office PowerPoint who are already familiar with a personal computer, Microsoft Windows and a mouse. Basic word processing skills are also recommended.

Our aim is to provide you with the necessary skills to produce presentations using Microsoft Office PowerPoint (referred to in this course as PowerPoint). We will introduce you to many timesaving features using quick keys and short cuts.

PowerPoint is a presentation generating tool, which makes tasks like preparing flyers, overhead projector transparencies, illustrated notes, data shows and on screen presentations, easy and efficient. In this course we cover the basic features, such as:

  • Creating slides and using slide Masters.
  • Using word processing features within PowerPoint.
  • Changing colour backgrounds and colour schemes.
  • Creating graphs and charts.
  • Adding Clipart to your presentation.
  • Using the drawing tools.
  • Viewing the presentation.
  • Printing, flyers, slides and notes.

It is important that you use your new skills as soon as possible on completion of this training course. We encourage you to take your own notes and to review this Course Guide once you are back at your workplace.
